It's the lower one, the one which is removable and which sits between the cyclinder block and the case.

Good work! Eliminating the electric starter and the starter wheel helps a lot, weitht wise.
How much did you take off at the diameter? Did you notice any change in the charging characterisics?

I have good experience with both Megacycle and Web Cam. For racing, I'd either use Megacycle's 125-70, -20 or -x12 (which is the most radical) of the three. From Web Cam, I'd recommend their 63b or 63 ... |

It is a '77/'78 head at any rate. If it was black from the factory, then it's a F2 (or F3) big valve head. (Only '78 heads have eight knock pins). |
