Hi folks, wer'e building a cr750 for classic racing in Uk and Europe. What we need are some sensible priced pistons to keep within 750cc class. if we bore to +1mm to get max capacity with stock pistons what model piston would give the best comp ratio as a starting point. We already have yoshi cam,big valves ,springs and some cr carbs.

Hi Peter,
congrats to your project and welcome to the forum!
The CB750 F2/F3 ('77/'78 ) stock pistons have a higher dome than the earlier models (see http://www.satanicmechanic.de/board/viewtopic.php?t=93). With an earlier model's head you should get around 12.5 c/r, but you will have to carefully check the clearances. I haven't found the pistons at David Silver or CMS, though, hopefully they are still available from Honda.
Hope that helps! |
