Hi all,
I just purchased a dual disc conversion kit for my 1973 Honda. I want to know if a GL 1000 front brake splitter will mount on the CB750 in place of the current brake stop switch.

Thanks. Smile

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I'm not sure about the GL splitter, but the usual way is to use a longer bolt which connects the two banjos to the brake switch.

Another thing to do is thin the two banjos so they fit on the old bolt with a washer in between. I was able to do this a couple of times with a bench grinder and flat file in 10 to 15 mintues. But you must take care to keep the two surfaces parallel.

The longer bolt only has one opening for the brake fluid correct? Is this enough to allow proper fluid movement for both calipers? If so, where can I find such a bolt? Thanks. Cool

It has two openings for the brake fluid, one for each banjo. The openings are quite small, but that is enough, there is not much fluid flow. These bolts used to come with dual disc conversion kits, maybe some shops still carry them. Alternatively, anybody with a lathe should be able to make you one out of a suitable bolt (AFAIK it's M10x1.25). I should have a bolt somewhere, at least I can take a picture and post it here. Or you do as Ron suggested and grind/file down the two banjos.
